Ministry Teams

Adult Education
Team works with Center Administrator to provide congregants and community with contemporary educational opportunities to expand understanding and practice. Duties include choosing classes, assigning teachers and times, training educators, announcing and advertising new classes, coordinating text delivery, etc.

Animal
The animal ministry is headed up by a Practitioner. The team is there to support anyone who needs support in any way in relation to pets and animals.

Annual Events
This ministry works with the Events and Promotions ministry to carry out our ongoing “annual” events such as the Gathering of Spirits/Adult Retreat (see ministry description), the Jazz and Chocolate Festival, Thanksgiving Dinner, Flea Market and other events.

Arts
Creating opportunities for the “creative: folks to show and sell, creating prosperity for artists and generating prosperity for ACSL.

Board of Trustees
The BOT oversees the finances of the Center and helps to facilitate policies and all major changes and/or ideas that the congregation wishes to make.

Bookstore
The bookstore links ACSL and the community of members and non through the availability and sale of books, CD's, gifts, and many other items. It both supports and enhances our Center.

Choir
We are a group of vocal and instrumental ministers that share the gifts of our spirits, our voices and other talents. We co-minister at ACSL to realize the vision, the values and the ministry plan of our congregation.

Connect Groups
This team facilitates the connection of our congregants in many ways outside the confines of the Center. Some of the Connect Groups are: Women's Bridge, Conscious Spirituality Study Group, Hiking, Drumming Circle and many others.

Creative Spirits
Sparking creative and sharing friendship, this group meets monthly to “create!”

Ecclesiastical
This is a team of Practitioners along with the Minister who work in support of our Center.

Events and Promotions
This team works to plan, promote and implement the many events taking place at our Center. Some of these are fund raisers.

Garden
The beauty of our Center, in the form of flowers and plants, is supported by this hard working team.

Good Stewards
This team focuses on modeling, teaching and encouraging giving…money, time, energy, things…by holding the consciousness of abundance and prosperity for our Spiritual community.

Guest Services Ministry
Embody the principles of relational harmony, connectedness and love for new visitors and for regular attendees of ACSL. Coordinate and impart information about Center activities, ministries, and services. Welcome visitors and guests.

Heart to Hand Outreach Team (HHOT)
HHOT is an “outreach” team working in conjunction with the greater community. We are also an “inreach” team servicing our own Center and community.

Kitchen Team
This team works to create solutions regarding the kitchen usage, services and appearances.

Music
Our Music Ministry is directed by a paid musician who has many contacts in the community. Our music director is a practicing and very talented musician who, in addition to coordinating our ACSL trio, also arranges and brings in many varied and exciting musicians for our services. He has organized/and or played in a number of concerts which have been wonderful and profitable events at our Center !

Prayer Shawl Ministry
This is a group of people who knit or crochet shawls filled with prayers to support those in need. Many of them meet as a group and create and pray into their creations. They work closely with the Compassionate Ministries team to get the shawls to where they can offer the most love and prayers.

Staff
This team is paid, on-site regularly and carries out multiple forms of support for our Center.

Usher and Greeter Ministry
Duties include handing out bulletins, greeting attendees at Sunday services, collecting the offering and handing out flowers to first time visitors.

Youth Education
Sunday Junior Church – Vision: a world awakened and empowered by Love. All youth in our program will learn to connect with the Divine through experiences, activities, personal empowerment, Spiritual practices, Sacred Service and giving.
