Spiritual living is not some cute idea on paper, it asks something real of us. Not just reading about the path, not just talking about the path — walking it. Even if we stumble. Even if we have to dance our way down it one day and drag our feet the next.
All of the noise of world is more than just noise, it’s a call, an invitation to make your spiritual life real — to remember yourself and your life as sacred. It’s an invitation to refuse the comfort of shallow spirituality and instead welcome a holy rebellion. The kind that kicks fear, cynicism, and numbing out of the driver’s seat and welcomes courage, kinship, and the sacred into your everyday living.
The noise outside is so loud. Loud with violence. Loud with disinformation. Loud with systems crumbling while trying their hardest to profit from chaos and division. With all of that shouting for our attention, this cannot be the year where our spirituality is fragile. This has to be the year where we root down. Deeply. Fiercely. Into the quiet power that can tune out the outer noise and sings the song of our holy nature on repeat.
Living the Sacred Way isn’t about escaping this world through shiny spiritual ideas or pretending we are “above” it all. It’s about consciously aligning with Truth — about finding the re-Source we need right where we are, so we can meet life head-on and heart-open.
And before we try to change anything outside of us — before we go rushing into action, before we leap into manifesting, before we ride the highs of our righteous convictions — get still. slow down. Rest. Long enough to remember, to listen for what is True. To soften enough to feel the Presence that has been here the whole time, waiting for you to slow down and notice.
This month, Rev. Dr. Raymont Anderson and the ABQ CSL team are guiding us into this year of spiritual rebellion, courage, and kinship through the mythic mirrors of Star Wars and Dune. These stories, as fantastical as they are, remind us of something ancient and simple: fear isn’t the enemy — forgetting is. Forgetting our power. Forgetting our belonging. Forgetting the LOVE within us.
So as you begin this year, consider making some commitments.
Commit to living awake.
Commit to courage — not bravado, but the brave, daily choice to stay present AND open-hearted.
Commit to kinship — the beautiful truth that we rise and fall together.
Commit to spiritual rebellion — letting go of anything that keeps you from your True & Holy Nature.
So here is a blessing to walk with you as we step into January:
May you remember that Love called you here.
May you return to this still and steady Love — the Love that lives right where you are, and always has.
May you breathe and remember that fear is not your ruler.
And however loud the outside noise becomes,
may you meet it with courage, kinship, and holy rebellion.
Welcome to the Sacred Way.
Welcome to a year of courage, kinship, and the holy rebellion of Love.
